Express Entry was launched in 2015 that makes the immigration process fast. Before this, applicants were selected on the basis of first come, first serve basis but now in this new system, they are picked up on the basis of Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) ranks. Express Entry is not an immigration program rather it is a fast track processing system which selects skilled workers under Economic Classes. It targets and issue Invitation to Apply (ITA) to applicants that have the ability to contribute to economic growth and prosperity of Canada.
Now you may expect your Permanent Residence Visa of Canada with-in a year.
Different Economic Categories or Classes under Express Entry System through which applicants can apply are:
Applicants must obtain a minimum of 67 points out of 100 points on the six selection factors: Age, Education, Experience, English Proficiency, Adaptability and Arranged Employment.
Minimum requirements:
Work Experience: 1 year of experience (full time and continuous) within the last 10 years in a skilled profession (NOC O, A,B)
IELTS Score: 6 in all four skills
Education: High School Diploma
Eligible Skilled Trade Occupations: Chefs, Cooks, Plumbers, Carpenters, Painters, Butchers and Bakers, Crane Operators, Utilities Supervisors and few more.
Minimum requirements:
Work Experience: 2 Years in an eligible Skilled Trade with in the last 5 years.
IELTS Score: 5 in Speaking, Listening, Writing and 4 in Reading
Job Offer (full time) from Canadian employer
This category is for skilled workers who have Canadian work experience. Students working on Post Graduate Work Permit are also eligible to apply under this category
Work Experience: 1 year of experience (full time and continuous) within the last 3 years in a skilled profession ( NOC O, A,B)
If you meet the criteria of any of the above economic class, you can apply under this system. The steps are:
You have to create a profile online. If you are eligible, your profile will be accepted into a pool of candidates and you will be in the Express Entry pool for up to 1 year.
Your profile will be assessed and given a score using CRS , there are a total of 1,200 points available under the CRS based on various factors .The higher your score, the more likely you are going to receive an ITA for permanent residence. Candidates who are nominated by a province or territory or have a valid job offer from an employer in Canada will have a better chance of receiving ITA. Also, applicants having advanced English or French proficiency with good years of education and experience are getting ITA frequently. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) conducts regular rounds (once or even twice every month) to invite the top-ranked candidates in the pool to apply for permanent residence
Once you get an ITA, You will have 90 days to submit your PR application online. All the supporting documents must be consistent with the information that you submitted while Express Entry Profile Creation.
